On November 23, 2018 Korea became the first Asian country to legalize medical cannabis. However, the KFDA has made restrictions and currently only allowing products made by pharmaceutical companies.

In 2019, patients access to CBD was limited through a medicine known as Epidiolex developed by GW. Not covered by insurance, a 100 ml bottle of Epidiolex containing 10,000mg of CBD was prescribed for $1300.

It was looking optimistic…
in 2020 the Korean government abruptly cut funding to the Center of Rare Disease responsible for buying and distributing the costly medication…

한국은 2018년 11월 23일 아시아 최초로 의료용 대마법이 통과가 되었습니다.
하지만 한국 식약처는 시행령을 통해 epidiolex, sativex 와 같이 제약회사에서 만든 ‘대마 성분 의약품(cannabis-derived drugs)’을 우선 허용하기로 하였습니다.
2019년 3월 12일 법이 시행이 되면서 레녹스 가스토 증후군, 드라벳 증후군 환자에게 epidiolex 처방이 시작되었습니다. 한국에서는 100ml 한 병에 cbd가 10000mg 함유되어 있는 epidiolex 를 $1300 에 처방받아야 합니다.
2020년 1월 1일 한국 식약처는 의료용 대마 예산이 취소되어 2000병 대량주문이 아닌 처방전이 들어오는 대로 개별주문 시스템을 도입하겠다고 발표했습니다.
KMCO 는 281 와 함께 한국 정부의 의료 대마 정책을 수정하는 캠페인을 펼치고 있습니다. 시행령 개정을 통한 의료용 대마 처방 확대로 다양한 형태로 환자들이 처방 또는 구입을 할 수 있어야 합니다.
